We have wanted to try this neighborhood gem since it was recommended to us a couple of years ago. It was my birthday and my hubby made some reservations which I think on most evenings would be a requirement. They opened at 5:00 and when we arrived at 5:20 for our 5:30 reservations, the seats at the lovely and friendly bar were all taken and the tables were filling up fast. They have a 1.5 hour limit at tables so that tells you something as well. The staff was very sweet and professional. The service was really great throughout our meal. We split 2 starters: a Pear salad which was a little different, but tasty. They used endive instead of lettuce but the sweetness of the pear balanced the bitterness of that nicely. The second starter was a fall burrata - amazing! Delicata squash perfectly roasted, with pepitas, pomegranate seeds, hazlenuts, and the cheese was perfect. Our main courses were a black cod on a bed of parsnips purée (really nice) with a complex tomato compote, and a Parmesan encrusted chicken on white polenta, with delicious stewed cherry tomatoes on the side. Amazingly enough since it was a birthday celebration we ordered a Dessert, so many to choose from but we went for the beignet on a delicious strawberry compote. (These were like heaven, and there were 5! of them!) We absolutely could not finish them all, and actually took home part of my main as well. There were lots of GF options if that's a concern. They have a good selection of specialty cocktails, wines by the glass, and several lovely ones by the bottle as well. My only issue was the noise level was a little overwhelming at times. It was also a bit pricey, but worth every penny.

This was my 2nd time at Satchel's and it was absolutely delicious. We started with the bread and butter and burrata. The burrata was phenomenal. Bread and butter also 2 thumbs up! We had 2 burgers and 1 flat iron steak. Everything was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!

This is a neighborhood gem! It is family owned and the staff are wonderful. The food and wine selections are amazing. It is a small, cosy restaurant but there are a couple of larger tables in the back corner. It's right on 6th ave so the patio seating is not for me ... but I might do it for the food if those were the only seats available.

Sometimes you walk into a restaurant with no expectations and are blown away by how amazing it is, and that's exactly what happened at Satchel's on 6th. I was along for the ride for dinner with some friends, but it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Owner Andrew and his team really know how to make you feel at home. The place is busy and lively, but the staff's warmth makes you feel like part of the family. Now, the food was incredible. We kicked things off with burrata and some cheese-stuffed squash (I can't remember the exact name, but it was amazing). For my main, I had a steak cooked to perfection and the duck fat fries that were hands down the best fries I've ever had. The stuffed trout was also fantastic. It was cool that they had a smoker cooking it up just a few feet from our table outside Desserts didn't disappoint either. The lemon gelato was super refreshing, and the beignets, with their strawberry sauce twist, were almost as good as those back in New Orleans. I'm not normally a strawberry shortcake fan but the one here was incredible. A perfectly balanced dessert. The margarita was uniquely special too--different in a good way. If I had one regret, it's that I didn't get to go twice while I was in town. If you want a meal that feels like it's made with love, check out Satchel's. It's definitely worth it.

I have been to satchels a handful of times full of times when I'm in town and I 10/10 recommend! The menu changes so what you see here might not be the menu when you go so please be mindful of that. We started with the salmon crudo which was delicious, it melted in your mouth- I loved the capers for a pop of flavor. We also had the nettle and ricotta dumplings which were good but the texture was definitely different than expected. The duck fat fries are always a hit. The oysters were cooked on a grill out front of the establishment - I thought that was a pretty cool aspect to the whole experience. The Cesar salad with the chicken was amazing!! The chicken was well fried and still juicy in the inside with out being greasy! I don't know what they do to that oil / butter and garlic bread but we had to order more it was so good! I used the butter for everything I could ! Crab cakes were good, however it did have a lot of breading / filler which is pretty common anywhere. The rubarb pie and beignets were also great! The cocktails are unique and you can always order your favorite drink even if it's not on the menu! The establishment is skillfully decorated with nice chandeliers, other lighting & walls that are lined with different paintings which capture the eye. The service was amazing! Even on a busy night the waiter (JP) did not miss! He was very attentive, provided great recommendations , joyful and everything came out timely. This establishment is really over the top on all levels!

Lovely evening at Satchels. Everyone seems very familiar with the staff and like this was the neighborhood hotspot. We have a gluten free person in our group so we picked Satchels due to the menu and weren't disappointed. Highlights were the salmon and oysters! We didn't feel rushed or neglected which can happen in a hoping place so we were really appreciative just to sit and visit over cocktails and delicious food. I can see why this is a favorite for many people!

Satchels is an institution.... it is always packed with locals from Cherry Creek, Congress Park, Country Club or far points. For me I love a place that I can walk to and not worry about driving/parking. Food is delicious: Love their burger, great fried chicken, and duck etc. Nice starters too using fresh ingredients. Service is on point although it is small and gets crowded.
